How to service the instrument panel dimmer switch on 2004 Ford Ranger?

To service the instrument panel dimmer switch, disconnect the battery, lift off the center finish panel and the hood latch release handle and steering column cover. Before removing the dimmer switch, remove reinforcement bolts, move the gear shift lever aside and unconnect the electrical connectors. Installation Reverse the process to install.
