How to Service and Repair Automatic Transmission Shift Levers on the Column on 2004 Mercury Grand Marquis?

When servicing the column shifter automatic transmission, disconnection of the battery and the auxiliary power is necessary to maintain the safety. Deassemble the lower steering column panel, the screws and the lock cylinder to the ignition switch. Unplug the Transmission Control Switch harness, take off the gearshift and throw away the old pin. Follow the procedure in reverse.
