How to service the accelerator cable on 2004 Mercury Marauder?

Removing splash shield bolts, spring and disconnection of the accelerator cable are required in order to service the accelerator cable. Disconnect it to the bracket and take off the wiper arm and store the wiring harness shield. Unplug the cable of the pedal, clear the retainer and draw the cable through the dash. Reverse for installation.
