2005 Ford Excursion Radiator Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service the radiator for 5.4L and 6.8L engines on 2005 Ford Excursion?
A: Service operations for the radiator of 5.4L and 6.8L engines start with cooling system drainage. After detaching the transmission oil cooler tubes from the radiator you should proceed to remove the fan blade along with the clutch before removing the shroud. Raising the vehicle enables workers to detach the degas drain hose and lower radiator hose which are connected to the radiator before they lower the vehicle down again. The upper hose on the radiator should be removed followed by removal of plastic pin-type retainers to expose the radiator sight shield. The right upper radiator support retains the insulator through bolts that must be unscrewed before removal. Drop the radiator vent hose then unhook the bolts together with insulator from the left side radiator support. The radiator extraction process includes removing both lower insulators together with the radiator from the frame extension or radiator area. The installation of the new radiator requires following the opposite order of removal procedures.
