You can initiate service and repair of the front door check by taking off the door trim panel. The door must never receive a closing action after you remove the two door check arm bolts. Insert the new door check arm after removing the bolts by torquing them to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft). Place the boot to the side to access the two nuts which secure the door check arm until you tighten the new arm to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft). The door check arms and door hinges require multi-purpose grease spray application before running through the reversed installation process.
