2005 Lincoln Aviator EGR Valve Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to Service the EGR Valve System Module on 2005 Lincoln Aviator?
A: To service the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system module workers must access the EGR tube through the right front wheel well and disconnect the exhaust manifold-to-EGR valve system module tube upper fitting before tightening it to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft) when reinstalling the component. The EGR system module installation process begins with disconnecting its electrical connector followed by removing the two 10 Nm (89 lb-in) fastened bolts from the module. Soft metal sealing surfaces exist on the EGR system module therefore handle the component with care while cleaning the surfaces for inspection before discarding the worn-out EGR system module gasket. To install the system follow the uninstallation steps backwards while using a fresh EGR system module gasket that should be placed with its circular side facing the intake manifold.
