Alleviate damage to the mounts by being cautious while removing the rear bumper pin-type retainers but remove center pin-type retainer pairs followed by the outer pairs and then the six rear bumper cover screws. The installation task requires removal of two liftgate alignment bumper bolts then two liftgate alignment bumpers and reinstallation at 8 Nm (71 lb-in). Remove the rear bumper cover only after disconnecting the parking aid system electrical connector. Start with the correct positioning of the bumper cover into the bumper slides before performing the installation procedure in reverse order.
