How to service the front bumper cover on 2006 Ford Crown Victoria?

Service of the front bumper cover requires that you disable the fire suppression system's power if present and disconnect air suspension electrical power to prevent unexpected air spring inflation or deflation that would move the vehicle. The hoist should support the vehicle when it remains in the NEUTRAL gear position. The service starts with removing the bolts securing the lower radiator air deflector followed by the vertical deflector bolts; reinstall them while tightening each to 7 Nm (62 lb-in). First remove two pin-type retainers on each side then proceed with removing six pin-type retainers from the front bumper cover which are positioned three on each side. The installation process requires removing side turn signal lamp assemblies and each front bumper cover screw on both sides before securing them at 7 Nm (62 lb-in). Seal the process by uninstalling 2 screws that connect the front bumper cover to the fenders (one screw on each side) and fasten these screws at 2 Nm torque (18 lb-in torque). Before uninstalling the front bumper cover it is necessary to disconnect the fog lamp electrical connectors when these lamps exist. The installation process ends through a reverse application of removing procedures.
