2006 Ford F-150 Camshaft Position Sensor Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to Service the Camshaft Position Sensor on 2006 Ford F-150?
A: Service of the Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor requires users to disconnect the battery ground cable and drain the engine cooling system first. Clean and inspect the heater outlet tube O-ring seal before replacing it with a fresh one when required which needs lubrication using clean engine coolant. Position the heater outlet tube to the side after removing its bolt by tightening it to 10 Nm (89 lb-in) when you reinstall it. The service for the CMP sensor begins after disconnecting its electrical connector followed by bolt removal that secures the sensor. To put in the CMP sensor properly tighten it to 3 Nm (27 lb-in) and perform the installation steps in reverse order.
