The EGR system module requires detachment of its vacuum connector and electrical connector as the first step. Start by removing the exhaust manifold-to-EGR system module tube as a first step before taking off the two bolts which hold the EGR system module along with its gasket which you must discard. The EGR system module replacement requires the use of a plastic scraping tool instead of metal scrapers to clean sealing surfaces before installation. Match the raised circle on the new gasket towards the intake manifold before inserting and bolting the EGR system module until it reaches 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).
