Put the vehicle into neutral gear while placing it on a hoist. The first step requires detachment of the electrical connector which controls the evaporative emissions (EVAP) vent solenoid and subsequent removal of the EVAP tube. First disconnect the vapor tube retainer from the EVAP canister before releasing the tab to unplug the vapor tube. Remove the EVAP canister nuts as the next step. The new canister should be installed by performing the backwards version of previous removal steps. The evaporative emission system leak test and evaporative emission repair verification drive cycle must both be done after installation to confirm proper system operation.
