2006 Ford Freestar Power Steering Reservoir Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to Service the Power Steering Reservoir on 2006 Ford Freestar?
A: The fluid removal process starts with draining the reservoir while utilizing a proper suction device to defend against system entry of contaminants that trigger early failure of power steering components. When reinstalling the power steering reservoir, later tighten the lower isolator bolt to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.). Remove the power steering reservoir-to-power steering pump hose by loosening the upper clamp followed by detaching the reservoir from the isolators. You must first take off the return hose by loosening its clamp then disconnecting the hose before taking out the power steering reservoir. The final procedure requires executing the task in reverse order to finish the power steering system installation.
