2006 Ford Ranger Coolant Reservoir Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to Service the Coolant Reservoir for the 3.0L and 4.0L Engines on 2006 Ford Ranger?
A: Start the coolant expansion tank service procedure for 3.0L and 4.0L engines by taking out the air cleaner. First disconnect the speed control servo mounting bolt before moving it away if fitted to the vehicle. After installation replace this bolt with 11 Nm (8 ft. lbs.) torque. The service of the coolant expansion tank on 3.0L and 4.0L engines begins with disconnecting the washer motor electrical connector and the overflow hose at the tank before draining coolant into a suitable container. In addition to the washer motor hose you need to disconnect it. The two nuts along with two bolts fastening the coolant expansion tank should be removed. Upon reassembly, torque them to 7 Nm (62 inch lbs.). The installation process ends with performing the opposite steps to reinstall everything.
