Beginning service on the Engine Control Module requires unfastening the powertrain control module (PCM) wiring harness retainer nut while deliberately tightening it to 10 Nm (89 lb-in) torque after reinstallation. When disconnecting the PCM electrical connector you need to tighten it to 7 Nm (62 lb-in) after everything is back in place. Dispose of the stud bolt and place the ground cable and PCM wiring harness aside before tightening both to 10 Nm (89 lb-in). The installation should begin by removing two nuts and the PCM cover while applying 7 Nm (62 lb-in) torque for both. Reposition the PCM before you substitute it with the opposite order used during removal.
