You must compress the retainer between the RH and LH rear parking brake cables at the equalizer to expose them before taking out the wireform bracket bolt that needs to be tightened to 17 Nm (13 ft. lbs) strength. The following installation step involves extracting the LH rear parking brake cable from the frame bracket and then eliminating the equalizer followed by compressing the parking brake cable clip before taking the LH rear parking brake cable off the frame bracket. The RH rear parking brake cable needs to be uncovered from both RH hydraulic brake tube clips before removing it from the brake tube clip above the rear axle housing. Remove the parking brake cables from their connectors at the levers while compressing the clips which disconnects the rear parking brake cables from their backing plates. Perform the installation by executing the opposite steps of the removal process.
