2006 Ford Taurus A/C Accumulator Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to Service the A/C Accumulator in the HVAC System on 2006 Ford Taurus?
A: Start the suction accumulator service in the HVAC system by recovering all refrigerant from it. Unscrew the two roll restrictor bolts from the system then remove the roll restrictor while keeping in mind that the reinstallation torque should be 48 Nm (35 lb-ft). Gain access to the roll restrictor bracket by removing its two bolts then place it to the side for reinstallation at 25 Nm (18 lb-ft). Fully set the degas bottle aside by removing both the nut and bolt together after detaching the hose. First remove the stud and nut before disconnecting the suction accumulator spring lock coupling from the evaporator outlet where all O-ring seals will be discarded. Follow the same procedures for disconnecting suction lines and the compressor manifold while using spring lock couplings at the suction accumulator student and discard all O-ring seals. First disconnect the electrical connector from the A/C cycling switch and remove its screw to take out the suction accumulator. The installation process needs to follow the reversal of removal steps while using fresh O-ring seals and performing proper PAG oil lubrication of the refrigerant system. The A/C system completes its process by evacuating and performing leak tests followed by charging the system.
