The procedure starts by removing the screws from the lower splash shield followed by disconnecting the four bolts securing the heat shield and the screws from the right-hand splash shield area. Choose to separate eight nuts and the exhaust manifold and simultaneously extract the heat shield stud bolt. Redefine your work station with a suitable vessel to store the discarded exhaust manifold and EGR tube gaskets and eight exhaust manifold studs for disposal. The exhaust manifold should be cleaned thoroughly then thoroughly inspected before assembly. The installation process requires new exhaust manifold studs which should receive a torque of 19 Nm (14 ft. lbs.). After positioning the exhaust manifold gasket install the heat shield stud bolt while tightening it to 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.).
