How to service and repair the Automatic Transmission Shifter on 2006 Lincoln Town Car?

In order to service the automatic transmission selector lever, make sure that you are safe and that you disconnect the battery and other auxiliary power supplies. Eliminate the lower steering column finish panel and reinforcement, lower and upper steering column shrouds. Unhook the transmission control switch harness and pull off the gearshift lever, getting rid of the old pin. Installation is in reverse.
