The first step for front brake rotor/disc service and repair requires users to place the vehicle on a hoist inside NEUTRAL mode. Letting the brake caliper together with the brake pads and anchor plate assembly suspend from the brake hose will cause harm to the components. You must detach the two brake caliper anchor plate bolts then set the assembly aside while supporting it with mechanic's wire. Reinstall the bolts while applying torque to 160 Nm which equates to 118 ft. lbs. When reinstalling the brake disc position its match-marked wheel stud at the point where it shows the least runout. You should apply rust penetrant between the brake disc and wheel hub surfaces if they do not come apart easily. Unfasten the retention ring from the brake disc before discarding the existing element. A new retention ring should be installed following the reverse steps of removal. Remove all rust and debris found on the brake disc and wheel hub and wheel using brake parts cleaner. Finally apply anti-seize lubricant to the hub mounting surface to stop corrosion development in the future.
