Use a wheel stud as a reference to select the brake disc runout position that will stay minimal after reinstallation. Rust penetrant should be used on the braking surfaces between brake disc and wheel hub when brake disc removal becomes challenging. Take out the retention ring followed by the brake disc and discard the old retention ring. You should apply brake parts cleaner to clean all rust and debris from the brake disc wheel hub before installing a new retention ring through reverse installation order. Cater to hub mounting surfaces by smearing anti-seize lubricant as an anti-corrosive measure.
