First support the wheel knuckle then unfasten the upper ball joint nut followed by removal of the lower shock absorber nut together with its washer and bolt. The technician should first eliminate the upper arm inner bolt then proceed to loosen the lower arm inner bolt. Remember the positions of coil spring insulator and coil spring before carefully lowering the wheel knuckle support in order to remove the coil spring. When installing place the coil spring in the noted position with its insulator then use caution while raising the wheel knuckle support. The installation process requires you to fasten both upper and lower inner arm bolts to 115 Nm (85 ft. lbs.). After placing the lower shock absorber bolt with washer the nut should be tightened to 175 Nm (129 ft. lbs.). After installing the upper ball joint nut you must take off the wheel knuckle support while torquing the nut to 63 Nm (46 ft. lbs.).
