How to service the thermostat housing on a 2.3L engine on 2006 Mercury Mariner?

In order to service thermostat housing on a 2.3L engine, a vehicle must be in neutral position on a hoist. Take out hoses, drain the cooling system, pull out accessory drive belt and disconnect. Take out the housing bolts, fit in the new housing, tighten it to 10 Nm and fill in the cooling system to complete.
