How to Properly Service and Install Coil Springs on 2006 Mercury Mountaineer?

Service and repair of the coil spring requires measuring center hub distance to fender lip at curb height while the vehicle rests on level stationary ground. Remove the three shock absorber upper mount nuts before discarding them and reinstall these nuts using 30 Nm torque (22 ft. lbs.) at the vehicle height. Position the vehicle on a hoist to NEUTRAL and maintain the lower control arm with a suitable jack at the lower ball joint area. Then remove the stabilizer bar link nut along with its grommet and extract the stabilizer bar link assembly before installation at curb height where the nut should get tightened to 35 Nm (26 ft. lbs.). Detach the lower shock bolt with its flag nut from the shock absorber and extract the shock spring assembly along with throwing away the lower shock bolt and flag nut components. The lower shock bolt needs a torque of 350 Nm (259 ft. lbs.) to achieve curb height. The suspension needs to be raised using a suitable jack to maintain the same measurement between hub center and fender lip before tightening suspension bushing fasteners. Perform the reverse measures for the installation completion.
