2007 Ford E-150 Brake Booster Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service the vacuum brake booster on 2007 Ford E-150?
A: Begin service of the vacuum brake booster when both the engine and brake pedal have been activated multiple times to exhaust brake booster vacuum reserves. Beginning with master cylinder removal you should disconnect the check valve of the brake booster component. The brake booster push rod will disconnect only after removing the cotter pin cover and its corresponding pin. First take away the stoplamp switch and the brake booster push rod bushing before removing the brake booster push rod from the brake pedal pin. Take out the brake booster by unfastening its four nuts and removing the unit from its place. The installation process requires following the opposite steps of removal while tightening brake booster nuts to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs).
