2007 Ford Five Hundred Radiator Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service the radiator on 2007 Ford Five Hundred?
A: Service of the radiator begins with draining the cooling system fluid. The next step is unfastening the air cleaner assembly while following it with the cooling fan motor and shroud and the front grille removal. First disconnect the hoses on the upper radiator section and place them to the side followed by disconnecting and setting aside the hoses on the lower radiator section. Remove the horn assembly bolt first while disconnecting the electrical connector and then take out the horn assembly. Reinstall the bolt afterward but tighten it to 10 Nm (89 lb-in). The operation calls for removal of the two A/C condenser retaining bolts followed by placement of the condenser aside but the bolts need to be tightened to 6 Nm (53 lb-in) when reinstalling. The two radiator support bracket bolts require removal at first despite tightening them to 6 Nm (53 lb-in) upon reinstallation. Detach both radiator support brackets before advancing the radiator toward the front. The transmission cooler bracket bolt needs to be removed while tightening to 6 Nm (53 lb-in) before lifting the cooler off the retainers and placing it aside. The installation of a new radiator demands reverting the removal instructions while performing cooling system fill-ups and bleeding.
