The first step involves removing brake shoes but you must first disconnect the right-hand (RH) rear parking brake cable from its position with the intermediate cable at the cable union. You must compress the retainer while removing both the RH and LH rear parking brake cables from their equalizer connection before you can take out the parking brake cable wireform bracket bolt. This bolt needs a torque setting of 17 Nm (13 lb-ft). After completing the LH rear parking brake cable separation from the frame bracket users need to remove the equalizer and compress the parking brake cable clip before performing another frame bracket separation. You must disconnect the RH rear parking brake cable from both the RH hydraulic brake tube clips followed by separating it from the brake tube clip which rests on top of the rear axle housing.
