Service of the rear bumper cover begins with placing the vehicle into neutral gear on a hoist. First remove the fuel filler overflow tube before removing the six pin-type retainers attached to the rear bumper cover. Before reaching the rear bumper cover-to-body nuts begin by taking out four screws then setting aside both left-hand splash shield and right-hand splash shield. The installation process requires torqueing these nuts to 9 Nm which corresponds to 80 lb-in. Remove firstly the five pin-type retainers then the two nuts and finally three pin-type retainers and the scuff plate and place left-hand and right-hand luggage compartment trim panels to the side. You should extract the six rear bumper cover-to-body nuts and ultimately remove the rear bumper cover after tightening all the nuts to 9 Nm (80 lb-in) as part of the reinstallation process. The procedure will be finished by following the removal procedure in reverse order.
