    A: Starting the process of rear strut and spring assembly removal requires first removing the parcel tray. First loosen the three strut mounting nuts before removing both the brake hose bracket bolt and detaching the brake hose from the strut. The procedures start with discarding the rear tension strut nut followed by removing its rear bushing section and washer before separating the strut from the wheel spindle. The rear wheel brake hose must be protected from extension during strut and spring assembly removal through pinch joint expansion using a large screwdriver. After removing the wheel spindle pinch bolt detach the spindle from the combination of strut and spring assembly. The technician should lower the vehicle slightly and remove the three strut mounting nuts before removing the assembly together with the spring. Instal the strut and spring assembly in its place before securing the three new nuts but do not fully tighten them yet. The technician should partially lift the vehicle once the wheel spindle rests properly inside the strut frame. Then the new pinch bolt needs tightening to 80 Nm (59 ft. lbs.). Position the tension strut into the spindle to install the rear half of the bushing and a new tension strut rear nut with the washer placed so its cupped side faces away from the bushing. Then tighten the nut to 55 Nm (41 ft. lbs.). After placing the brake hose correctly install the bolt before tightening the three strut mounting nuts to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.). Finally, reinstall the parcel tray.
