2007 Ford Taurus Water Pump Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to Service and Repair the Water Pump on 2007 Ford Taurus?
A: Initial service and repair operations on the coolant pump call for draining the cooling system. First disconnect the accessory drive belt while releasing four bolts that secure the coolant pump pulley. Proceed by taking away the degas bottle and the generator from the system. Start by taking out the bracket together with the bolt, roll restrictor, and nut before moving onto the accessory drive belt tensioner and bolt. Throughout this procedure you must first remove four bolts supporting the coolant pump pulley along with its nut and support bracket itself. Separate the coolant pump inlet hose together with the crankshaft sensor electrical connector before removing ten bolts and two stud bolts and the coolant pump from its mounting position. Place the new coolant pump on its position and lightly install the ten bolts together with the two stud bolts. The installation requires bolt tightening from one to seven to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs) together with bolt tightening from eight to twelve at 10 Nm (89 inch lbs). Install the coolant pump pulley alongside the four bolts until they are loose. Reconnect the coolant pump inlet hose together with the crankshaft sensor electrical connector before tightening any bolts. Fasten first the nut and bolt with support bracket to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs) torque before proceeding with accessory drive belt tensioner assembly also at 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs). Fitting of the bolt and nut along with roll restrictor and bracket should be followed by securing the nut to a torque of 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs) while setting the bolt to 47 Nm (35 ft. lbs). The generator along with the degas bottle installation gets followed by putting the accessory drive belt into its proper place. Complete the tasks by tightening four coolant pump pulley bolts to 25 Nm and fill and bleed the cooling system.
