The first step involves removing both transfer case skid plate and exhaust hanger bolts when needed. Install a transmission jack before removing rear transmission insulator nuts then proceed with their installation. A slight transmission lift allows the removal of bolts which exposes the rear transmission insulator for extraction. The new transmission insulator needs to be positioned with bolts followed by torquing them to 80 Nm (59 ft. lbs.). Position the transmission onto the crossmember and fasten the nuts before tightening them to 103 Nm (76 ft. lbs.). Reinstall the exhaust hanger mounting bolts onto the crossmember before securing them with torque at 40 Nm (30 ft. lbs.). Connect the transfer case skid plate only if present and tighten it to 48 Nm (35 ft. lbs.).
