How to Service and Repair the Motor and Transmission Mount on 2008 Lincoln Mark LT?

The transmission mount service requires starting with the vehicle in neutral position while it rests on a hoist. There is no need to disassemble the transfer case skid plate if the vehicle has this component installed. Start by removing the two bolts which fasten both the exhaust hanger and the rear transmission insulator nuts. The rear transmission insulator removal process starts with a suitable transmission jack to gain slight height elevation of the transmission followed by bolt removal to extract the rear transmission insulator. Position the new transmission insulator in place then fix it with bolts which should be tightened to 80 Nm (59 lb-ft). Set the transmission in position over the crossmember before installing nuts which should be torqued to 103 Nm (76 lb-ft). Secure the bolts which fasten the exhaust hanger to the crossmember by tightening them to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft). The transfer case skid plate should be installed again if needed and secured at 48 Nm (35 lb-ft).
