- Q: How to service and repair the front door window regulator on 2007 Lincoln MKX?A: Service and repairing the front door window regulator needs you to first remove the front door speaker. The window regulator cable must be cut only when installing a new assembly but before doing so the window glass needs to be properly supported. Connect the window control switch after cutting the cable. Users must remove access plugs when the window operates before lowering it until they reach the two access holes that allow access to glass clamp bolts. Then tape down the glass during this process. Before releasing the glass clamp bolts it is crucial to support the regulator when the cable was earlier cut. The bolts require tightening to 8 Nm (71 lb-in) after installation. Let the regulator descent all the way until it stops at its lowest point in the tracks. Start by removing the trim while disconnecting the power mirror electrical connector before unclipping the wiring harness pushpins from the door. Detach the electrical connector positioned at the A-pillar followed by removing the two bolts securing the electrical harness grommet to the door. Through the speaker hole gain entrance to release the harness connector clip from the inside to detach it from the vehicle door. Release the weather strip and route the wiring harness along the door opening that forms between weather strip and door. Use a 12 Nm torque setting when installing the latched screws and also apply a torque of 9 lb-ft.
