- Q: How to service the upper intake manifold on 2007 Lincoln MKZ?A: The service of the upper intake manifold requires removing the air cleaner outlet pipe followed by disconnecting the throttle body electrical connector with the evaporative emissions (EVAP) tube and brake booster vacuum hose along with a positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) tube from the PCV valve. After disconnecting the PCV fitting electrical connector users should remove the wiring harness retainers from the upper intake manifold. The cylinder block heater wiring harness retainer needs to be detached if it applies. First remove upper intake manifold support bracket bolts then take away the six bolts holding the upper intake manifold in place while discarding the gaskets. All sealing surfaces on both the upper and lower intake manifold need inspection before mounting new gaskets for installation. The installer must use new gaskets for the upper intake manifold before bolting it into place using the specified sequence to a torque setting of 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.). Secure the two upper intake manifold support bracket bolts while torquing them to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.). Reinstall the cylinder block heater wiring harness retainer whenever needed followed by reattachment of wiring harness retainers. Secure the PCV fitting electrical connector and the PCV tube to the PCV valve after attaching the brake booster vacuum hose and the throttle body electrical connector as well as the EVAP tube. Reinstall the air cleaner outlet pipe as the last step.
