How to service the rear wiper motor on 2007 Mercury Monterey?

Before servicing the rear wiper motor the first task is to remove the liftgate interior trim panel. First disconnect the electrical connectors before removing the rear wiper arm nut followed by the wiper arm. You should remove the screws which hold the rear wiper module in place and separate the module from its mounting points. The rear wiper module needs to be placed on the liftgate before attachment through screw installation at 10 Nm (89 lb-in). Secure the rear wiper seal properly on the inside of liftgate glass so the indicator can match the white dot on the glass. During this step reconnect the electrical connectors too. Follow with the process of attaching the rear wiper arm into place while tightening the nut to a torque level of 20 Nm (15 lb-ft). First place the liftgate interior trim panel back in its position before checking the rear wiper alignment by cycling the wiper.
