    A: Depowering the fire suppression system is essential to start front shock absorber and spring assembly replacement work because stopping the system protects personnel from severe injuries. You should discard the three shock absorber upper mount nuts by themselves instead of removing the shock absorber center nut because releasing spring tension could lead to injury. Set the caliper pad and anchor plate assembly aside by securing it with mechanic's wire since the brake hose must not suspend. First remove the two securing bolts. First, remove the brake disc before using the hex holding feature to stop the stud from rotating then discarding the stabilizer bar upper link nut followed by the stabilizer bar link lower nut and the stabilizer bar link itself. Start by detaching the wheel speed sensor wiring harness retainer from the wheel knuckle then repeat the use of the hex holding feature to discard both the upper ball joint nut and shock absorber lower nut and flag bolt. To proceed with the removal extract the shock absorber in conjunction with the spring assembly. New shock absorber installation begins with proper placement before loose installation of the flag bolt and lower nut while finally tightening the upper ball joint nut to 150 Nm (111 lb-ft). Position the wheel speed sensor wiring harness after installation of stabilizer bar link followed by nut installation where the lower nut becomes 55 Nm (41 lb-ft) tight and the upper nut reaches 63 Nm (46 lb-ft). The brake disc should be installed before placing the brake caliper and anchor plate assembly and securing it with two anchor plate bolts tightened to 160 Nm (118 lb-ft). The wheel installation process requires reassembly of the tire along with tightening the three shock absorber upper mount nuts to 30 Nm (22 lb-ft). With the vehicle sitting on its wheel and tires tighten the shock absorber lower nut to 235 Nm (173 lb-ft). Per safety warnings and all procedures, repower the vehicle equipped with a fire suppression system to prevent personal injury.
