2008 Ford E-150 Crankshaft Position Sensor Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to Service the Crankshaft Position Sensor on 2008 Ford E-150?
A: The crankshaft position (CKP) sensor servicing process starts with neutral parking and hoisting the vehicle. Initiate the process by taking off both the splash shield and accessory drive belt from the pulley location. First disconnect the electrical connector of the CKP sensor and place the wiring harness to the side before removing the bracket attachment. Disconnect the electrical connector to the A/C compressor yet avoid removing the A/C compressor bolts so that you can drop the entire compressor 25.4 mm (1 inch) for accessing the CKP sensor. Check the O-ring of the CKP sensor for damage before removing the sensor bolt and sensor along with replacement of the needed components. The O-ring seal needs engine oil application prior to its installation. The assembly process requires you to fasten the CKP sensor to 10 Nm (89 lb-in) and secure the A/C compressor bolts to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft). Conclude the installation by performing the reverse steps of the removal process.
