How to service the windshield wiper motor on 2008 Ford Escape?

Service on the windshield wiper motor starts with removing the wiper mounting arm together with the pivot shaft. Detaching the wiper motor linkage arm from the wiper motor assembly might result in incorrect wiper arm parking so the repair process should avoid this step. A proper tool needs to be used to disconnect the wiper motor linkage arm from both the wiper mounting arm and pivot shaft assembly. Secure the wiper motor by removing its three bolts before installation while torquing them to a maximum of 13 Nm (10 lb-ft). Performing the reverse order of the removal procedure will finish the installation. The new wiper motor assembly already contains the linkage arm during purchase.
