How to service the windshield wiper motor on 2009 Ford Escape?

Start the windshield wiper motor service by uninstalling the windshield wiper mounting arm with its pivot shaft. You must not take off the wiper motor linkage arm from a new wiper motor assembly because removing it could result in improper parking position of the wiper arms. The wiper motor linkage arm requires detachment from the wiper mounting arm and pivot shaft assembly by using a suitable tool at the specified location. The three wiper motor bolts must be removed but should be tightened up to 13 Nm while reinstallation happens. The process completion requires performing the removal steps in reverse order.
