2008 Ford F-150 A/C Hose Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to Service the A/C Hose from Compressor to Condenser Discharge Line on 2008 Ford F-150?
A: Service of the compressor to condenser discharge line starts with refrigerant recovery. Start by removing the air cleaner outlet tube and disconnect the A/C compressor discharge fitting through the removal of the fitting nut when you dispose of the O-ring seal and gasket seal before tightening the fitting to 15 Nm (11 lb-ft). Recovery of refrigerant precedes the procedure then workers must disconnect the pressure transducer electrical connector followed by removing the bracket nut from the discharge line to the condenser. Before reinstalling, tighten all nuts to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft). When reinstalling the condenser inlet fitting it should be tightened to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft) after discarding its O-ring seal. The installation process should be reversed from the removal steps using new gasket seals together with O-ring seals and clean PAG oil for proper refrigerant system lubrication. Evacuation after leak testing completes the procedure of refrigerant system charging.
