How to service the front Power Window Motor on 2008 Ford Focus?

A proper service of front door window motors requires complete removal of the front door speaker device. Take all necessary precautions to avoid contacting the adhesive surface when working with the watershield because doing so could damage bond strength; when additional adhesive is needed, use seam sealer for total sealing. Before reaching the glass clamp bolts you need to raise or lower the window by installing the window control switch temporarily then remove the watershield. The two door window glass clamp bolts should be loosened but must be tightened to 8 Nm (71 lb-in) during installation. Tape the window in its final position while lower the window regulator until it touches both stops located at the bottom of its tracks. For installation reinforce the three front regulator bolts by tightening them to 8 Nm (71 lb-in). Rearward position the front of the regulator to gain access to the motor screws while disconnecting the electrical connector then removing the regulator screws which require tightening to 4 Nm (35 lb-in). The procedure ends by taking out the window regulator motor through rotational motion which allows complete detachment from the regulator system.
