  • Q: How to service the A/C Hose from the compressor to the condenser on 2008 Lincoln MKX?
    A: Service procedures of the compressor-to-condenser discharge line start with refrigerant recovery followed by vehicle hoisting in NEUTRAL gear. Soak up the refrigerant before taking out the fitting nut which includes the O-ring seal until you apply the new fitting at 8 Nm (71 lb-in). The condenser side service requires front bumper cover removal followed by draining engine coolant and unc Clips the upper radiator hose to disconnect it. After removing the engine cooling fan you must detach the compressor-to-condenser discharge line bracket bolt which needs to be tightened to 7 Nm (62 lb-in) when reinstalling. Before reinstallation remove the A/C pressure transducer connector along with the core support radiator brackets that must be separated from each other to widen the radiator position. Also extract the inlet fitting bolt from the condenser while discarding the O-ring seal and tightening the new fitting to 6 Nm (53 lb-in). The compressor-to-condenser discharge line-to-radiator clip must be detached before taking away the condenser side discharge line. The compressor side requires removal of the drive belt from the A/C compressor pulley alongside the RH inner fender splash shield and the clutch field coil electrical connector detachment. To install the new fitting properly replace the compressor-to-condenser discharge line bracket nut and the A/C compressor discharge fitting bolt by discarding the O-ring seal after tightening both components to 9 Nm (80 lb-in) torque values. Entirely remove the compressor-to-condenser discharge line before installation by following the reversed removal steps with new O-ring seals that received PAG oil lubrication along with correct PAG oil lubrication of the refrigerant system and finally conduct evacuation, leak testing and refilling of the refrigerant system.
