2008 Lincoln Navigator Crankshaft Position Sensor Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to Service the Crankshaft Position Sensor on 2008 Lincoln Navigator?
A: Service of the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor must begin after properly securing the vehicle in neutral position on a hoist. The first step requires removing the accessory drive belt then disconnecting the A/C compressor electrical connector. You should take the A/C compressor aside after removing its three retaining bolts. Proceed with disconnecting the CKP sensor electrical connector then extract the bolt that anchors the CKP sensor. Before placing the CKP sensor install it with 10 Nm (89 lb-in) torque while applying clean engine oil to lubricate the O-ring seal. Refit the A/C compressor by screwing its bolts to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft) torque while finishing up the procedure by following the reverse order of the removal process.
