2008 Lincoln Navigator Throttle Position Sensor Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to Service the Throttle Position Sensor on 2008 Lincoln Navigator?
A: You must begin service of the throttle position (TP) sensor by removing the throttle body (TB). Use a hand tool to turn screw of the TP sensor 1-2 full turns before finishing the removal with a suitable high-speed driver. You should separate the two screws and discard them together with the worn TP sensor. Use the new TP sensor by matching its radial locator tab with the combined radial location hole in the throttle body. The new TP sensor should be installed through two new screws before you make each screw tight to 3 Nm (27 lb-in). Finally, reinstall the throttle body. The old TP sensor along with the screws must not be used again because this practice might break the throttle body and the new screws should be installed only with a regular driver to protect the new TP sensor.
