How to Remove and Replace the Front Brake Disc on 2008 Lincoln Town Car?

Whenever you need to change the front brake rotor/disc the first step should be vehicle wheel and tire removal. Hanging the brake caliper together with brake pads and anchor plate assembly from the brake hose will cause damage to these components. Before setting aside the brake caliper assembly you should discard the anchor plate bolts while removing both brake caliper anchor plate bolts. Keep the assembly supported through the use of mechanic's wire. New anchor plate bolts need installation installation followed by 160 Nm (118 lb-ft) torque specification. When removing a brake disc that is hard to detach you should apply rust penetrant to the wheel hub to brake disc mating surfaces. The retention ring needs replacement with a new one while the brake disc is removed before discarding the retention ring. Follow all protocol to replace the retention ring before putting everything together. The process starts with cleaning rust and all foreign substances from brake disc and wheel hub and wheel using brake parts cleaner. For corrosion prevention place anti-seize lubricant on the hub mounting surface followed by multiple brake applications.
