The fire suppression system must be rendered powerless before starting any service work to minimize risks of severe injury. Place the vehicle in NEUTRAL setting before hoisting it onto the equipment. Use bushing removal tools to detach the stabilizer bar from its links while extracting the nuts. After turning the bar away from the links you can remove it. Drive the rear axle to a secure position using suitable jackstands before removing its retainers to separate the lateral arms from the frame structures. Throw away the removed fasteners. The ability to prevent injuries during the procedure requires maintaining all body parts away from shock absorbers or strut rods before separating the shock absorbers and axle through nut and bolt removal. Discard the fasteners at the end of this process. Proceed by lowering the jackstands along with the jacks followed by spring and spring insulator removal. Insert the spring insulators within the coil springs and properly set the springs together with insulators inside the vehicle structure. After elevating the axle with the jack or jackstands you must mount the shock absorbers onto the axle via new bolts and nuts while directing the bolts inward from the inboard side then tightening the nuts to 90 Nm (66 lb-ft). Attach the lateral arms to the frame but do not tighten the new bolts and nuts before proceeding. Position the suspension to obtain the same measurement you noted before tightening both lateral arm frame bolts to 90 Nm (66 lb-ft). The axle should be lowered down before the jack or jackstands need to be removed. Fix the stabilizer bar to the links by putting them onto their respective links before installing the bushings and securing the nuts to 20 Nm (15 lb-ft).
