2009 Ford Expedition Heater Core Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service the heater core on 2009 Ford Expedition?
A: Heater core service requires a leak test before removing the component. Initiate your work by taking out the heater core then removing the evaporator core housing. You should first disconnect the plenum chamber by releasing its clip then extracting the eight screws and setting the chamber aside. The removal process begins with taking off the 2 heater core fitting clips followed by the dash panel seal. The service starts by unscrewing both the heater core tube bracket screw and heater core tube bracket and continues with heater core bracket screw and heater core bracket removal. Finally, remove the heater core. Follow the opposite steps of earlier removal to install the new heater core.
