The first step for servicing the A/C Expansion Valve for climate control contains a refrigerant recovery process. The service begins by removing the A/C Expansion Valve manifold with tube bracket bolt while tightening it to 8 Nm (71 lb-in) for reinstallation. First detach the wire harness pin-type retainer before setting the harness to the side. For installation of the new fitting, connect the auxiliary evaporator inlet line by unfastening the fitting nut and removing the O-ring seal and gasket seal before tightening to 15 Nm (133 lb-in). First disconnect the fitting by loosening its nut, then remove the gasket seals and tighten the new fitting to 15 Nm (133 lb-in) during reinstallation. During reinstallation, tighten the two A/C Expansion Valve bolts to 8 Nm (71 lb-in) torques. Discard all gasket seals after you remove the A/C Expansion Valve component from your system. The installation of the new A/C Expansion Valve requires following the reversal of removal steps while including fresh O-ring seals and new gasket seals together with correct PAG oil lubrication of the refrigeration system. Evacuation and leak testing as well as charging the refrigerant system constitute the last steps.
