2009 Ford Expedition Parking Brake Cable Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to remove and replace the front parking brake cable on 2009 Ford Expedition?
A: The first step when changing the front parking brake cable begins with taking off the parking brake control. A hoist should stabilize the vehicle while it remains in the NEUTRAL gear. The front park brake cable P-clip-to-frame bolt should be radically tightened to 18 Nm (159 lb-in) before the reinstallation occurs. Disconnect the front parking brake cable and conduit through three steps which include prying rubber seal from front floor pan after bracket retainer compression for conduit release from bracket followed by front cable and conduit extraction from cable union. The installation ends with the reverse steps of removal.
