The vehicle safety relies on disconnecting the battery ground cable because it lowers electrical hazards. Under different circumstances it is required to take out the 7 screws which secure the underbody cover. The starter motor solenoid wire connector should be removed while setting the wire aside but remember to tighten it to 5 Nm (44 lb-in) torque during reinstallation. Put aside the starter motor solenoid battery cable terminal cover before unthreading the battery cable nut and placing the cable safely out of the way by tightening it to 12 Nm (106 lb-in). Starting the procedure requires the disconnection of the wiring harness retainer from the starter motor stud bolt along with placing the wiring harness in a safe location. Proceed to remove the starter motor bolt, stud bolt and starter motor but ensure proper torque tightening of 25 Nm (18 lb-ft) when realigning the bolts. To finish the process follow the reverse steps of the removal sequence.
