How to service the starter motor on 2008 Ford Fusion?

In order to service the starter motor, the vehicle must be in neutral and on a hoist. Loose the battery ground cable, and disconnect the screws on the underbody cover and loosen the solenoid wire. De-assemble battery cable and wiring harness and remove starter motor. The re-installation process is the reverse of the steps and tightening the bolts according to the requirements.
